FAQ
EV Hover is a wall-mounted, 180-degree swivel arm that holds your charging cable up in the air instead of on the floor. Here are answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Contact us.
Product and fit
How far does EV Hover reach?
The base unit extends up to 6 1/4 feet. Add the 3-foot extender to reach up to 9 1/4 feet, which is enough to reach over one car to charge another.
Will it work with my charging cable?
EV Hover works with charging cables up to 1 inch thick, which covers the majority of chargers. See the compatible charging cables list.
Does it work with Tesla and other EVs?
Yes. The arm carries the cable, not the connector, so it works with any vehicle. Optional holsters are available for Tesla and J1772 connectors.
What is it made of?
Powder-coated steel and aluminum. It is available in black and white.
Does it fold out of the way?
Yes. When you are not charging, the arm folds flat against the wall. It can be mounted as high on the wall as you need.
Installation
What can I mount it on?
Drywall (screwed into a stud) or masonry, including brick, stone and concrete block.
Can I install it myself?
Most owners install it themselves. You need to be able to locate a stud or other solid support, drill holes and drive screws, and lift about 15 pounds overhead. Follow the installation guide and your local building codes.
Can someone install it for me?
Yes. See our list of recommended installers, or ask any qualified handyman or electrician.
